Whitley Rules!!

Whitley will always stay in my heart...

Yesterday was a very very very very memorable day..I'll never forget what happened yesterday..NEVER EVER..!!

First thing first, it was Ms Lin, my ex-form teacher from Whitley..er..wait...No...is Mrs Low's wedding ceremony!! The thing started at bout 2.30pm...I'm really glad that she found her happiness...her hubby will really humour her and care and LOVE her...can see it clearly that day..Haiz...I'm very envious of them...they are making all her ex-whitleyan girls (including me!) want to marry off early..so romantic!!Must quickly go find my partner..hahazz..kiddingz...

She was filled with tears when her hubby gave her and everyone a surprise...he held a guitar and started singing on stage...u know those love songs...haha...I can't remember the title...actually he sang 1 chinese song first followed by an english song..then his family force him to sing this one song...and so he did! He was so good at it btw....everything went so perfect...the surroundings became quieter until the screen showed Ms Lin crying...I felt like crying too at tha point...he was really sweet and I can tell she was also very touched..at some points she was laughing and crying at the same time...I'm sure they are going to have a great life ahead..I really do wish her and her hubby all the best...and hopefully we will be able to keep in touch!! haha.......

Anyway, then we went down all the way to j8...cause we were at Church of Singapore (Bukit Timah) so you can see the trip was quite long..but luckily we had a bus..852!! then we switched to 156...and soon enough we got to j8!! Then we took quite a long time to decide where to eat and finally we settled on Mos...

After dinner..we headed to the one place...Whitley Secondary School. They were having their annual Festspiel XVI where Whitley's concert band will play annually..but this year was a bit different. Whitley is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year..(yupz...its the same as Singapore's) And it was really significant because next year Whitley will be undergoing a huge upgrading for 3 years..so almost everything will change..so I guess its just a right timing..hahaz...For this year, they have also organised a Musical. Whitley's very own 40th anniversary special Musical!!

I kept hearing people from Whitley saying how good the musical was..so I was really looking forward to it..but first, whitley concert band performed..they were great as usual..but somehow..lotz of people were missing..this year the cohort seemed smaller..much smaller....they had a new conductor too..its like everything started quick and also ended really quickly..it took only about 45mins after the festspiel XVI ended...I was really surprised..but then I thought again..maybe they are cutting short everything for the musical..so I thought the Musical has got to be really good..

Finally the Musical started...and guess what?I was practically off my chair as I watched it..because I couldn't really see as people in front were blocking so I had to move forward a bit from my chair..haha...my back was no where near the back of my chair..throughout the whole Musical my eyes were glued to the stage and music and sound and their talks...I was amazed and shocked...! Seriously, I always thought Whitley was kind of boring and not spontaneous enough to come up with such things...I was really shocked.

The Musical highlighted everything from the history of Whitley, how we were doing at Whitley Road, to the events that happened in and out of Whitley. That includes a simple but sweet love story that happened in Whitley back then between 2 teachers and also what animals think about Whitley and its students. (*the animals (stray dogs, birds, monkeys) were always giving them strange looks.) Its a musical put up by Whitleyans...be it those studying in Whitley now or ex-whitleyans..from sec 1 all the way to 1967 graduates...Its really obvious they put in lotz and tonnes of effort in the whole Musical..it was a great success..of course they gathered help from professional stage people...can you imagine?about 2 hrs of singing and talking from all the performers and not one of them forgotten their lines and lyrics?I mean they look so professional up there...I feel really proud of them...

Now..I felt even more proud of being a Whitleyan once..the sense of joy and pride continues to overcome me. Whitleyans will always be whitleyans no matter what..I truly enjoyed my 4 years there...be it sad, angry or joyful moments..this is where i once and will always belong in...Whitley will always have a place in my heart forever til the day I die....hahaz..do I sound too serious?anyway..Whitley may not be the best school around but deep inside me, it will always be my No.1 Secondary School...I've once regreted getting in to Whitley but now I don't. The days spent there has filled up part of my teenage life and those days will never be forgotten no matter what....Whitley will be Whitley forever........................

PS: Btw..I can't believe "carrot" appeared again just now...the world really is getting smaller....haiz....
