LINKIN PARK LIVE 13TH NOV 2007

LINKIN PARK LIVE 13TH NOV 2007

Ok peeps.
I've got too many regrets to list,
so I'll start with the good stuff first.

First of all,
just came back from e concert.
YES. I WENT TO THE LINKIN PARK CONCERT!
It started at 9pm (1 whole hr late)
and ended at 10.30pm+.
It's pretty short right?
Actually, I'm not too happy with the duration.
It could have been longer ok?
I didn't mind the waiting at all,
coz it all boils down to the concert itself.
If it was hell good,
you ask me wait 2hrs for them also no problem!

Secondly,
they really know how to make the crowd scream.
And of course, just like every other concerts,
they have their super mini 'stage'
right at the front end of the main stage,
where they either step on it to sing/scream,
or show some guitarist/bassist skills.
I must admit,
The guitarist Brad was superb,
so was the bassist Pheonix.
They really make the crowd go high
just by playing their instruments.
Rob the drummer also did fabulous on his drums and solos.

Thirdly,
I LOVE MIKE SHINODA.
Everytime he starts to sing/rap,
I just go 'gaga' over him.
He is really charming too.
Chester was as usual great at his vocals
and all the screamings.
Sometimes I wonder,
will his voice ever break or something?
Its like he seems to be able to keep his throat
in perfect condition for the nxt perf.
Super powerful lor.
really KUDOs to him!
I also liked Joe Hahn's scratching and turntables,
but from my view i hardly see him,
coz of the huge hanging speaker from the ceiling.
I was sitting quite high up, on the side.
Wasted.haiz.

Forthly,
whenever the more popular songs like
NUMB or WHAT I'VE DONE or CRAWLING's
starting tune starts to play,
everybody goes wild.
The more amazing part is,
I didn't know there were ALOT of fans
who knew how to sing their EVERY song,
and decided to sing along throughout the whole concert!
I wanted to,
but it was either I didn't know the lyrics,
or I'm having a hard time clearing my throat.
BTW, CRAWLING was the 1ST ever song
that I listened to, and liked them since.
Up till now I STILL like the song~~!

Through this concert,
I learnt a few things too.
And end up with a few regrets.
I realised,
western celebrities always have problem
coming to Singapore for concert because
they do not have enough fans.
It was quite visible when I went for BLUE's concert.
The indoor stadium was like,
pretty much more than half filled only.
Asians love having their concerts here,
because they have the fans.
Afterall, Chinese still stand majority in Singapore.

I knew there were going to be caucasians
coming for the concert,
and it was true afterall.
But I would say there were more Singaporeans than them.
But they were the ones getting us high as well.
But I was quite surprised that the stadium was
close to 100% full.
At 8pm, the scheduled time for the concert to start,
it was only less than 50% full.
But close to 9pm,
it was already 90%.
I guess that's partly why they started late.

Another thing was,
I really loved their singing.
It's so MUCH more powerful than most asian stars.
When asian stars come down for concert,
they always focus more on the costumes
and stage decorations,
putting their focus on singing/dancing abit lesser.
Whereas for western stars,
they only focus on one thing and that is singing.
The stage can be as simple as one rectangular stage,
and they may never change any clothes at all throughout the concert,
but they do really well on their vocals
and their performances.
Not saying Asians are bad at all,
but somehow its different.

Some regrets I'd like to highlight were:
Handphone not fully-charged;
took a video halfway and my hp shut down on me.
(And that was fucking irritating,
after I found out that the video was of good quality,
in the sense that you can actually hear Chester singing CLEARLY)
Something wrong with my hp,
damn pek cek lar!
Record halfway, then got stuck.
And I didn't press anything oh!
Had to on and off it.
Another regret was the camera.
Not suppose to bring into concert,
but apparently everyone is holding onto 1.
Damn frustrating!!

Another was some songs were missing.
Some songs that I love more than others
were not performed.
Damn sad lar...
I wanted to hear how Mike would perform
'In Between' and 'Hands Held High',
but they were not performed lor!
Maybe coz if it was performed,
it would become Mike's one-man-show.
But Chester and Mike also got their own 2-man-show
without the other 4 members lor!
So unfair!!

One last regret was,
sometimes its good to have your dad at a concert,
in a way, he can be your sponsor to many things.
Another way its bad,
when you want to stop and see something,
he would just walk on ahead,
hinting you he is not interested to see.
I wanted to stop-by and see some stuff,
but he wanted to go in first to find our seats.
Same when coming out.
Someone was selling some kind of 'passes' outside,
wanted to see,
but he just walked 'quickly' away.
And you know when a concert ends,
ppl start swamping out of the stadium,
and I didn't wan to get lost,
so had to carry on walking.
Damn sian lar...
saw some signatures on the passes.
I hope they are fake ar!!
If not I will kill myself very soon.
Coz this concert like other than the concert tix,
got nothing to keep to remember it le.
Dunno when is the nxt time they holding a concert here lor,
the more I say, the more I heart pain.

LINKIN PARK CONCERT
was my first ever LIVE ROCK BAND CONCERT,
so I got to try it out.
And I'm glad I chose them for my 1st try!
I really love their songs and style alot!
Overall I love their performances,
be it vocals, drums, guitars, bass or scratching,
they were all very compatible and came out very nicely.
I love the lights too!
Lights are one of the most impt item for a rock concert.
Without the lighting and spotlights etc,
a rock concert wun sound like a rock concert.
Different lights accompanying different tones of the song,
it brings out even more of the songs.
And I didn't know LIVE concerts are THAT high.

OVERALL RATING:
8/10
(Abit too short making the price abit not worth,
and 2 songs not performed!)

And I think I getting my bdae pressy tml~!
Or actually later in the day.!!
