Oh, and it was a super abrupt end to the 09/10 English Premier League last weekend. All the matches were played at the same time on the same day on Sunday. It's how they started the season too, start and end at the same time. As usual I was watching Arsenal take on Fulham. Chelsea had to win their match if they wanted to claim the title. They won their match 8-0. So much for scoring 103 goals in 38 games. That's a Premier League record. And to think people were banking on Arsenal to break the 100-mark at the start of the season. HaHaHa.
Anyway, it was a weird season many would say. Arsenal were in and out of the race almost every different week! In the end we ran out of fire power towards the last few games and fell. Never really got back up until the last game of the season, which was a rather easy one considering Arsenal were playing at home, Fulham filled a weaker starting-11 due to their Europa League Final coming tonight. They wanted to conserve most of the energy of the first-team players so they will be fresh for tonight. Understandable since they are mid-table save in the League, and have every opportunity to take the Europa League title. In a way, it was an easy match.
By half time Arsenal were already 3-0 up. Kind of like game over for Fulham. It also had an 'end of season' feel as the players began to decrease the game speed, almost strolling around the pitch. The end result was 4-0. What a way to end the season too with Vela's trademark CHIP. Arsenal started the season with Denilson's wonder goal, and ended with Vela's chip. At least it was a good ending. Some movies don't even have an ending at all.
Now the transfer reports are flying. Reports say Marouane Chamakh is on his way to Arsenal. I think that's already a done deal - sooner or later the official website is going to annouce so. I believe there are more players going to come in too. Not sure who, but all the rumours flying around are usually 90% false. Hard to believe them. Anyway, I guess the only thing football to look forward now is the WORLD CUP. Daddy not subscribing to it on cable TV, so it's online for me! Not sure who Im rooting for though, caught between England and Spain. England because I watch EPL, and basically know every English players they have. Spain because I somehow like Spain for no reason. It's the same with Nadal. There's just something about these Spanish sports people. Their passion and quiet-ness? As in they don't boast and always remain humble? I don't know.
If both England and Spain were to reach the Final, I'd probably go 51% Spain. I think they deserve it more than England.
